Hyderabad: With the reports of irregularities in placing the indents of retail wine shops with various companies by the data entry operators, the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited (TSBCL) has decided to remove them and appoint new persons in their place.

Issuing directives in this regard to the managers of the TSBCL depots, senior officials of the company said the data entry operators (DEOs) being appointed on outsourced basis should be removed immediately. The directives said that existing contract with the present outsourcing service providers be terminated by giving one month notice and engage computer outsourcing personnel afresh with new service providers by entering into new agreements.

The TSBCL officials said none of the data entry operators have been replaced though as per rules they should be changed at regular intervals. This resulted in many of the outsourced DEOs becoming agents for certain individuals and reportedly indulging in certain illegal activities in connivance with few regular employees. They were reportedly altering online indents without the approval of the chief manager or manager.

A senior official of TSBCL told The Hans India that the DEOs were altering the indents placed by the retail shops leading to chaos and possible financial loss to the Corporation. The matter is now being investigated, the sources said.

Usually the retail wine shop owners place online indents for wine from the TSBCL. However, when changes are required the dealers take the help of the data entry operators to alter the indent illegally. For altering the indent, the retailers have to follow prescribed procedure which takes time and they are using the short cut, in this case the help of DEOs, to alter the indents to circumvent the procedure.

This would damage the reputation of the Corporation; the officials said and added that there was an urgent need to curb such Illegal activities in the interest of the organisation. In view of this, the chief managers and managers have now decided to terminate the contract of the outsourcing agency who has been working for long and hence they would be replaced once in six months, officials said.
