Tirupati: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao arrived along with his family members here on Tuesday to a rousing welcome at the Renigunta airport.

TDP, BJP and YSR Congress party leaders and also some of his associates here including former Tirupati municipal chairman K Sankar Reddy and others turned up to receive Chandrashekar Rao immediately after he landed at the airport while Forest and Environment Minister B Gopalakrishna Reddy. who was the protocol Minister in waiting, came along with his family including wife and son and received the TS CM at the tarmac on behalf of AP government.

Among those who were at the airport to welcome the Telangana State CM include TDP local MLA M Suguna, YSRCP Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, BJP former city president K Ajay Kumar and others. After exchanging greetings, KCR drove by road to Tirumala, along with his family members including wife Shobha, daughter Kavitha and her husband.

Before boarding his car, KCR exchanged pleasantries with K Sankar Reddy who was his associate when they were in TDP. As the election code was in force, police did not allow the people who came in about 10 buses from various places in the district including Punganur, Srikalahasti and also Tamil Nadu to welcome KCR, into airport premises, leaving them to stand on both sides of the road outside airport and greet KCR waving hands while he was passing in his car.

At Tirumala, TTD chairman Ch Krishnamurthy and JEO K Srinivasa Raju welcomed KCR at Padmavathi Guest House. Five Telangana Ministers, T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, T Padma Rao and E Rajender who arrived two hours before Chandrashekar Rao, also joined those who welcomed KCR at Tirumala.

KCR will present a set of gold ornaments on behalf of Telangana government to Lord Venkateswara during his visit to the temple. Elaborate security was in place at the airport and the security personnel kept the mediapersons at bay at the airport.
