No force can stop us, asserts Kodandaram

​Hyderabad: “The arrests and police high-handedness cannot stop us from taking forward our fight for filling the vacancies,” said TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram.

Speaking to media soon after his release on Wednesday evening, Kodandaram said the government should take the responsibility for the war-like situation which it had created.

It was unfortunate that the government tried to project the rallyists as anti-social elements and used brutal police force to prevent the rally. Such massive arrests were not seen even when Sagara Haram was organised in the undivided Andhra Pradesh when the Telangana agitation was at its peak.

He said the TJAC would extend moral support to the educational institutions bandh to be held on Thursday.

Kodandaram condemned the manner in which police arrested him. He said he had told the police that they would voluntarily come out and surrender and sought some time but the police did not listen and barged into the house by breaking open the doors.

He said all this could have been avoided if the government had permitted them to hold the meeting at Nizam College grounds, he added.
