Hyderabad: Stating that there was a political conspiracy behind the ‘Nirudyogula Nirasana’ rally, Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy on Wednesday said that JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram was deliberately conspiring against the Telangana government.
Reacting to the TJAC rally on Wednesday, the Home Minister said that it is not proper for a person who had played prominent role in Telangana agitation to conspire against his own government. He said the government is not opposed to TJAC holding a meeting or rally.
But it should follow certain procedure and rules. He said the police and the High Court had suggested the meeting be held at Nagole but Kodandaram insisted that his word should prevail. He should explain why he withdrew his petition in High Court while the judge was reading the judgement. Apparently, the intention was to disturb the law and order situation in the state, the Home Minister added.
Naini said that they have no objection if Kodandaram floats a political party but he cannot conspire against the government. Narasimha Reddy said that the government had repeatedly said that it was committed to fill the vacant posts and had issued several notifications but still the JAC chief was provoking the students.
Replying to a question on the arrest of Kodandaram, the Home Minister said that he was unaware of the arrests and added that he would seek details from the police officials.
Replying to a question, Reddy said that the Telangana movement was different when all fought for freedom and today’s movement was different. He said neither the students nor the unemployed youth had participated in the JAC protest rally.
Later addressing a press conference TRSLP office, government whip in the Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and others said that barring a few organisations not many had taken part in the protest rally of the TJAC. He said that the government was ready to take suggestions but it would not allow the law and order situation to go out of hand.
“If Kodandaram wants to give suggestions, the government is ready to take them but if law and order is taken into hands, then law has to take its own course. The government will not allow Kodandaram or any other leader to disturb the law and order situation in the state,” Rajeshwar Reddy said.
Rajeshwar Reddy said that there was no political support to the rally. Political parties only condemned the arrests as a customary practice but none supported or participated in the rally.
Rajeshwar Reddy said that Prof. Kodandaram knows very well about the recruitment procedure in TSPSC. The government has to take all measures like following the roster, rule of reservation, conduct examination and complete evaluation which is a time consuming process. The results of Group I examinations held in 2011 are yet to be announced there are several cases pending in the court, he said.
The TRS leader said that the government had till now issued 34 notifications and filled 24,000 posts. He said that the government would fill over one lakh vacant posts before it completes its term.
