Director of Operations G Narasinga Rao in a press release on Thursday said that works were underway for laying of 400 KV Gajwel - Shankarpally double circuit line which is carrying around 700 MW power. The works have been taken up for the upcoming 400KV/220KV Narsapur substation, which is under construction for catering the future power use of industrial and other category loads of Medak district and surrounding areas.

Power will be diverted from 400 KV Mamidipally substation and 400 KV Srisailam Left Bank substation to 400 KV Shankarpally substation. During the shutdown period there is a possibility of overloading of 220 KV Malkaram - Shapurnagar double circuit line, 220 KV Mamidipally - Shivarampally and 220 KV HIAL-Sivarampally lines.

All possible options are being exercised for keeping the line-load under control. However, under extreme emergency situations, there may be a possibility of minimum interruption at above substations areas for Secured Grid Management, the power utilities said.
