TPCC President is vehement in criticism against the Chief Minister for the latter’s intemperate language against the Opposition

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday charged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with stooping so low as to target the opposition parties and its leaders in a bid to justify his wrong-doings. He strongly objected to the intemperate language used by the Chief Minister against Congress leaders.

Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Leaders of Opposition in Assembly K Jana Reddy and Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir (Council), AICC Secretary V Hanumantha Rao, former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi, was speaking at a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.

He took objection to the remarks made by the Chief Minister against Congress leaders while addressing a public meeting in Mahabubabad on Friday. He said that donation of gold ornaments worth more than Rs 5 crore to various temples by drawing money from the Common Good Fund was totally illegal. He said there was nothing wrong in the Congress party criticising it. He asked whether it was appropriate on the part of the Chief Minister to donate huge sums of money from the public exchequer, while failing to clear the fee reimbursement dues pending.

Uttam Kumar Reddy accused KCR of failing to doing anything during the last 30 months except wooing the legislators from the Opposition parties. Loans to the tune of Rs 60,000 crore were borrowed in the name of constructing irrigation projects. The TRS government's prime activity so far remained focused on taking loans and seeking commissions from contractors. He alleged that the KCR family has been robbing State of its wealth since it came to power in 2014. All the projects, which are now being commissioned, were started during Congress regime.

The TPCC chief said while the youth were struggling with the problem of unemployment, lakhs of students were facing uncertain future due to non-clearance of fee reimbursement dues. Further, there seemed to be no end to the spate of suicide by farmers across the State. Under these circumstances, KCR is wasting public money in the name of offerings to fulfill his vows, he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the State government was snatching the lands owned by poor farmers in the name of projects. Instead of implementing Land Acquisition Act, 2013, the government was paying meagre compensation while completely ignoring the rehabilitation and resettlement of affected farmers and other sections.

The TPCC chief said that it was wrong to use tax payers’ money to fulfil personal vows. KCR should have spent personal money to make such donations, he felt.
