Hyderabad: BJP floor leader in Legislative Assembly G Kishan Reddy has accused the State government of giving a raw deal to 26,000 contract workers in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

He accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of providing inaccurate information during the recently concluded Assembly session.

The BJP floor leader said there are more than 26,000 outsourcing employees in the Singareni Collieries in six districts across the State.

He said injustice was meted to the Singareni outsourcing employees by the successive governments in both united Andhra Pradesh and now in Telangana State.

He said the government had failed to provide basic facilities to the outsourcing employees. The government was underpaying employees. KCR had promised to construct super speciality hospitals in the Singareni areas, but failed even to provid the basic infrastructure in the existing hospitals, he said.

Kishan Reddy alleged that the government has been diverting funds under corporate social responsibility to Siddipet and Sircilla districts.

Referring to hereditary employment on compassionate grounds, he said the government has been drafting norms in such a way as no one would be eligible for employment.
