Hanamkonda: Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) Warangal district committee on Sunday conducted a free counselling session for students and parents in view of the ensuing examination season.

The programme was titled ‘Enjoy exams with positive approach’. Psychologist S Shanthi Swarup and psychiatrist and director of Jayakrishna Psychiatric Centre Dr B Jagadeesh Babu gave lectures.

Shanthi Swarup told the students to keep out destructive thoughts such as fear of failing in exams and tension. He explained how to manage time and memory techniques, while suggesting to develop concentration, have proper sleep and not to postpone study hours.

“Human brain contains 150 thousand crores of neurons. Each neuron is equal to one super computer. It means human brain capacity is very large but we make use of very small portion of such capacity. One should have good focus and be relaxed when reading,” he added.

Dr Jagadeesh Babu, who is honorary president of the JVV, trained the students and parents on how to perform yogic breathing exercises and said sufficient supply of oxygen was a must for the body and mind to perform in a better way.

He explained the concepts of dream, discipline, determination and implementation with the help of psychiatric tools. “There is no substitute to hard work and it should be done with pleasure but not with pain so that exams could be enjoyable,” he added.

JVV district president D Prabhakara Chary, office bearers Dharma Prakash, GS Raju and K Satyanarayana and students from fifth standard to PG students were present.
