Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of cheating the unemployed youth in the State.

Addressing a massive public meeting ‘Jana Avedana Sabha’ in Shadnagar on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Chandrashekar Rao who had been in power for 33 months ran out of excuses for not fulfilling the promise made prior to elections of providing unemployed youth with lakhs of jobs.

“The arrogance due to power has led Chandrashekar Rao to even forget God,” said he, expressing that the Chief Minister did not fulfill the vows made by him to God for 33-long months and people would only imagine the fate of promises that he made to them.

Accusing the Chief Minister of not providing jobs to the unemployed youth, he asked the Chief Minister to clarify whether or not, during the election campaign, he promised one job for each household in the State.

“Having realised that he could not cheat or mislead common people any more, the Chief Minister has now turned towards Gods to seek refuge,” Uttam Kumar lashed out.

He said when the Congress regime wanted to fill nearly one lakh vacancies, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) stalled the process saying jobs should be given only after the formation of Telangana and now Chandrashekar Rao was blaming the Congress party in turn, he said.

He also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the promise of providing two crore jobs. He said the wrong policies of the Modi government had derailed the country's economic growth and demonitisation had crippled all sectors, especially agriculture and industries.

The TPCC chief pointed out that the TRS government did not fulfill a single poll promise. “Chandrashekar Rao only delivered long speeches and tried to cover up his failures with story-telling tactics.

Having exhausted his entire vocabulary, now he has started using abusive and derogatory language against the Congress leaders,” he said.

The Congress leader said Telangana had been turned into a debt-ridden State by the TRS government. Despite borrowing thousands of crores from different institutions during last two-and-a-half years, all deserved segments like students and farmers did not get the required assistance.

He condemned the TRS government for its failure to clear dues of fee reimbursement and crop loan waiver schemes. Former union minister S Jaipal Reddy, MLA D K Aruna, MLC K Damodar Reddy and other senior leaders also participated in the event.
