Yellareddy: Even in the age of electronics and computers, it is pathetic to note that residents of Narsapur have no option except to be carried in make-shift palanquins to the nearest town Banswada, 8km away, in case of medical emergencies since there is no motorable road to the hamlet, tucked in forest region of Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district.

There are instances of some expectant mothers delivering babies en route to Banswada, while being carried to a hospital. People are finding it difficult to walk long distances to reach the nearest urban center.

Saheba, a villager recollected the horrible event when her daughter gave birth even before reaching the nearby hospital.

“The essential material for our centre is delivered five kilo meter away from here. It’s a tough task for us to transport to the village,” said Laxmai, an anganwadi teacher

Even political leaders have to trek long distances to seek votes from the hamlet. People of the hamlet have been appealing to their MLA Yenugu Ravinder Reddy, who promised a pucca road to the village, to fulfill his promise to them.

There are 60 houses in the hamlet, whose total population is 300. There are no proper road communication facilities to the hamlet. Since the road is not motorable, plying of three-wheelers or four-wheelers to the hamlet is ruled out. Therefore, scope for ambulance reaching the village is ruled out.

Mohan Yadav, a leader in the village bewailed that they made several rounds around government offices and repeatedly requested to address the issue.

When contacted the deputy engineer of Panchayat Department D Veeranandana Rao said that proposals have been submitted but nothing was sanctioned so far.

Youth of the village lament that none is coming forward to give their daughters or sons in marriage to prospective grooms and brides of the hamlet. They are earnestly appealing to leaders to develop their hamlet in the same way as they do urban areas.
