Hyderabad: Filling of nominated posts gathers momentum with the announcement of chairmen for 10 corporations in the state on Wednesday by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Five of the ten chairmen are Muslims.

TRS minority leader from Khammam Shaik Budan Baig has been made the chairman of Telangana State Industrial Development Corporation. Another party leader from Old City and contestant candidate from Charminar Assembly constituency Mir Inayath Ali Baqri was made chairman of SETWIN.

Syed Abdul Aleem is the chairman of NEDCAP, TRS leader from Warangal Md Yousuf Zahid has been appointed as the chairman of Telangana State Khadi and Village Industries Board and Syed Akbar Hussain has been appointed as the chairman of Telangana State Minority Finance Corporation Limited.

TRS party’s secretary general K Keshav Rao’s son K Viplav Kumar was given the post of TSUFIDC (Telangana State Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation). The YSRCP MLA, who joined TRS, Thati Venkteshwarlu was also rewarded with the post of chairman of Telangana State Tribal Co-operative Finance Corporation.

Bollam Sampath Kumar Gupta from Warangal has been appointed as chairman of Telangana State Handicrafts Corporation Limited and Goundla Nagender Goud was made chairman of Telangana State Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSEWIDC) and Kondabala Koteswara Rao will be the chairman of Telangana State Seeds Development Corporation Limited.

Talking to media, TRS MP Balka Suman claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was committed towards the welfare of minorities in Telangana State.

Suman said KCR's commitment could be understood from the fact that five out of 10 chairmen appointed were Muslims.

He said that KCR was working towards empowerment of Muslim community. He alleged that other political parties treated Muslims only as vote banks. However, the TRS Government has been ensuring the socio-political and economic empowerment of the entire community.

Suman said that the TRS Government has established Gurukul hostels exclusive for minorities to ensure their educational development.

He said schemes like Shaadi Mubarak were introduced to provide financial assistance for the marriage of poor Muslim girls. Suman said that the credit for ensuring social justice goes to TRS. The AIMIM also appreciated the gesture of the Chief Minister.

According to a party leader, Muslims constitute over 12 percent of the population in the state and it was good that non-official posts were given to them.
