In view of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to increase Anganwadi teachers and helpers salaries to Rs 10,500 and Rs 6,000 respectively a month, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday has asked the Anganwadi workers to ensure that pregnant women have a nutritional food intake and also told them not to compromise on the health of children.

Siddipet: In view of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to increase Anganwadi teachers and helpers salaries to Rs 10,500 and Rs 6,000 respectively a month, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday has asked the Anganwadi workers to ensure that pregnant women have a nutritional food intake and also told them not to compromise on the health of children.

Speaking at the celebratory function of Anganwadi workers held at Siddipet Municipality building, he encouraged the workers to strive for an increase in institutional deliveries in government hospitals.Praising the Chief Minister for his generous gesture towards Anganwadi workers, he said that the government would once again raise their pay next year.

He said that workers who are qualified enough would also be elevated as Anganwadi supervisors. “Previous governments had used horses and lathi’s to crush people’s movements. But government of Telangana has been taking care of Anganwadi teachers and helpers, home guards, VRAs, RTC drivers and conductors like never before,” he said.
