Hyderabad: The city police arrested a software engineer based in Bengaluru for cheating a Hyderabad-based company in the garb of providing training.

The arrested has been identified as M Srikanth. The police recovered two mobile phones, four pan cards and 20 debit and credit cards from the possession of the accused.

According to the police, the complainant Asheeth Raj Saxena of Hyderabad runs a partnership company Elantra Consultants which is into providing IT training and consultancy to corporate organisations. The company hired the services of Srikanth after finding his profile on a job portal.

He had collected Rs 2.79 lakh from the company for hiring servers to provide training for 16 persons. The training was to begin in July 2016 but the accused began avoiding the complainant after collecting the money, the police said.

Consequently, Elantra Consultancy management lodged a complaint with the Central Crime Station. Based on it, the police registered a case and arrested the accused.
