He was addressing a public meeting on the occasion of 59th Revival Day of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen at Darussalam on Thursday.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, paid rich tributes to late Fakhr-e-millat Abdul Wahed Owaisi and Salar-e-Millat late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi for giving a new direction for Muslims in politics in India. Attacking the Congress, he said that reports of the committees like Sachar, Kundu, Ranganath Mishra Commission, which were set up to study the socio-economic status of Muslims, were not implemented by the Congress.

He said that the lock of Babri Masjid was opened when Congress was in power and the mosque was demolished during their regime. However, he said despite being in power, the Congress did nothing to punish the culprits.

Akbar accused Modi government of diverting attention from core issues. He said that donkey (gadha) Diwali, Qabrastan and Burqa have become the poll issues in Uttar Pradesh.

Recalling the achievements of MIM, Akbaruddin Owaisi said it was on the representation of MIM that the Telangana government issued order that Muslims be treated on par with SCs and STs. He said that the problems of Muslim community could be resolved only by achieving political power.

He also announced that the MIM would pressurise the State government to take action against the policemen who were involved in the fake encounter at Alair in which five Muslim under trials were killed. He said justice would be served to the families who lost their loved ones.

Party legislators Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Moazam Khan, Jaffer Hussain Mehraj, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, Kauser Mohiuddin, Syed Amim ul Hasan Jafri, Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi, newly elected Corporators of Mumbai, Sholapur, Mumbra were also present in the function.
