Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Thursday withdrew the notifications issued to fill about 7,300 vacant teacher posts in government residential schools.

The press communiqué issued by the TSPSC stated that the notifications issued on February 6 have been withdrawn. It said that the notifications have been withdrawn due to proposals received from various departments to make amendments to the notifications.

It may be mentioned here that a notification released by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to fill the vacant posts in residential schools in the state had sent shockwaves among the job-seekers.

According to the notification only those who graduated in first class are eligible to appear for the examination under OC category. The eligibility to write exam for SC/ST/BC candidates is a degree in second class.

This led to protests from job aspirants who said that any graduate, irrespective of the percentage of marks obtained, is eligible to take even the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the UPSC for recruiting candidates to various civil services, including IAS, of the Central government and demanded that amendments be made to the notification.
