3.97 lakh acres to be brought under SRSP-II project

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday said that irrigation facility under SRSP (Sri Ram Sagar Project) second stage project would be provided to 3.97 lakh acres by next Kharif season.
Reviewing the progress of the project works, the Minister instructed the officials to complete all canal works ensuring supply of 25 tmc of water from Mid Manair and another 2 tmc from lower Manair dam to the SRSP second phase project before the beginning of next agricultural season.
Harish Rao instructed the officials to regularly visit the project sites and complete the works on a war footing. He wanted them to address the land acquisition for the project at the earliest.
