Hyderabad: Telangana State CPI(M) on Saturday demanded that Chef Minister K Chandrashekar Rao provide legal status to the budgetary allocations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities.

Addressing a joint press conference here on Saturday, State Committee members B Venkat, B G Narasimha Rao and P Jyothi criticised the ruling party for making promises when elections were round the corner to hoodwink people and forgot the same after coming to power.

It was for this reason that the party wanted the government to enact a law to make it binding on the government to spend the budgetary allocations made to SC, ST, BC and Minorities as well as workers, said Venkat.

He said that though KCR has been making statements belittling the Mahajana Padayatra taken out by his party, of late, the Chief Minister was announcing schemes for different marginalised sections. This was a clear indication that the Chief Minister was on the same page with the issues being raised by the party for all-round development of the State, he added.

While appreciating the State government for hiking the salaries of VROs, they demanded implementation of minimum wages to all.
