​Hyderabad: Public Relations Council of India, a national body of PR professionals, has conferred its prestigious Dr Anil Basu Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award in Public Relations for National Achievers - 2017 on Dr C V Narasimha Reddi, Editor Public Relations Voice and former Director of Department of Information and Public Relations, Andhra Pradesh, for his outstanding contribution to the growth of Public Relations.

Priyank Kharge, Minister of Tourism and IT of Karnataka government presented the award to Dr Reddi on Sunday at the 11th Global Communication Conclave held in Bengaluru. The citation has lauded his services to the promotion of public relations education in our country.

Reddi is also known as the "Guru of Public Relations Education in India." Dr Reddi was also UGC National Professor in Public Relations and Vice-Chancellor visiting Scholar, University of Canberra.

As Advisor, Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, Dr Reddi was not only instrumental in launching three PR programmes such as Bachelor of Public Relations, PR at UG level and MA in Mass Communication and Public Relations but also got 25 text books published for these courses.

MS Public Relations at Sri Venkateshwara University, MA Public Relations at Osmania University were his brain children. As a National President, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Dr Reddi gave a call to celebrate National PR Day on April 21 which is being observed every year since 1986.

All these services brought him Media India National Award, Man of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Awards of PRSI, ABCI and Global Forum for Public Relations.

As a civil servant, Dr Reddi worked in different positions such as Press Secretary to Chief Ministers, Director Cultural Affairs, Director Academy of Rural Development, Director PR APSRTC and Additional Director Sports and Youth Services.
