Nizamabad: A large number of Accredited Social Health Activists ( ASHA) workers participated in a dharna at the Collectorate in the city on Thursday under the aegis of the CITU.

They were protesting against the indifference of the State government towards their long pending demands. Speaking to the media, CITU leader Vijayalakshmi said that even on an earlier occasion, the government remained indifference to their demands and failed to resolve them although they promised to resolve them.

The State government was not even paying them minimum wages though it was making them work as bonded labourers, she lamented.

The CITU leader warned the State government that the ASHA workers would intensify their agitation if it continues to remain indifferent to their demands.
