Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) felt that there was no match between the promises being made by the government and its performance. Reacting to the Governor’s address, the BJP floor leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy said the government had skipped the main promises it had made before the elections which included two- bedroom housing, three acres of land for Dalits, fee reimbursement and reservations for tribals.

It had only made a passing reference to KG-to-PG education and 12 percent reservations for Muslims. Party floor leader in Legislative Council N Ramchandra Rao said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government skipped mention of Central funds and their utilisation in Governor’s address.

MLA Chintala Ramchandra Reddy said the government had failed in providing promised one lakh jobs. He said the government had provided nearly 5,000 jobs and issued notification for about 20,000 vacancies. The Governor’s speech also ignored health sector, he said.

The BJP leaders also condemned the TRS government for promising 12 percent reservation for Muslims. Stating that giving reservation on the basis of religion was unconstitutional, he said that their party would support reservation on the basis of backwardness and not religion.
