Hyderabad: Ministers and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders on Friday lashed out at the Opposition parties stating that walking out from the Assembly during Governor’s address was an insult to the Constitution. The TRS leaders alleged that the Opposition parties had breached the decorum despite Speaker’s gesture of making telephonic request to all parties to maintain decency and decorum during the Governor’s address as it was done in Lok Sabha.

Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the Congress staging walkout from the House without listening to the entire speech of the Governor was insulting the people of Telangana and the Indian Constitution. “One leader walked out stating that the Governor was made to read out lies and another leader said there was no mention of SC, ST Sub Plan, land distribution, minority reservation and tribal reservation. But, these leaders walked out before the Governor could turn the pages where there was a mention about them, which shows the frustration of the Opposition parties,” said Rao.

The Minister challenged the Congress leaders to prove which statement of the Governor was a lie. He said the government was ready to prove them in the Assembly and also asked whether the Congress leaders had guts to question.

He said the government and particularly Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had answered the questions raised by the Opposition parties during the winter session. The Opposition parties did not have a right to ask same questions again, he added. He asked whether forming 31 districts was a lie or stating that Telangana was first in ‘ease of doing business’ was a lie.
