BJP dubs budget a bunch of lies
BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao on Monday said the budget presented by the State government was a farce and a bunch of white lies. The entire budget and its financials are cosmetic and made up.

Rao said the TRS government was hiding the facts of the State’s economic health. The fact is Telangana State economy is in a crisis and as per the revised estimates of the Budget of 2016-17 the State was in a deep revenue deficit of Rs 15,854 crore. These are official figures of the Accounts General from the revised budgetary document of 2016- 17, he said.
Rao said the misrepresentations in the State Budget were a criminal insult to the people’s representatives, the Governor, the House and the people of the State. “This government is presenting a budget which in entirety is a misrepresentation of facts.
The statement of Rs 4,571 revenue surplus in the Budget is a terrible joke on the fiscal situation of this State,” said Rao. Showcasing a ‘revenue deficit’ State, as a ‘revenue surplus’ State is unethical, illegitimate and deceptive, he said.
He said that it would lower people’s faith in this government as the guardian of its resources. It breached the trust. The governments are not supposed to lie and misrepresent, he said.
