The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has prayed the High Court at Hyderabad to appoint an Administrator to oversee the conduct of matches for the upcoming Indian Premier League matches to be held in Hyderabad from April 5th.

The counsel for BCCI, Priyadarshan Reddy, submitted this to the division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter during the course of hearing of a PIL petition filed by cricketer and advocate M Govind Reddy seeking CBI probe into the Rs 120 crore fraud by the existing management of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

The BCCI counsel informed the bench that Hyderabad is an important venue as both the opening and final matches are to be held here. He also stressed that IPL is the most lucrative tournament of the BCCI and not holding even one match would mean a huge loss of revenue. Hyderabad hosts a total of eight IPL matches this season and therefore the smooth conduct of these matches is essential. The arguments will continue on Wednesday.
