KCR’S SOP SHOWER

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy predicted that early election might take place in the State in 2018 and made it clear that the Congress was ready to face the elections.

  • Accuses govt of submitting fudged figures to the Centre
  • Rues no power plant began production after KCR came to power

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar said it was painful that the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao did not know who would evaluate the GDP and explained that the Centre would evaluate the GDP by considering the figures submitted by the State government.

He alleged that the State government was sending wrong figures to the Centre and made it clear that he quoted the figures taken from the CIG website. The government was trying to deceive the people with magic of figures, he said and asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to tell whether it was not a fact that the agricultural production was reduced only after the latter came to power.

He asked the State government to tell whether the socio-economic survey figures were wrong. He alleged that the State government was spreading false information with regard to ‘ease of doing business’ and asked to tell whether it was a fact or not that the State was in the sixth place with regard to investments.

The TPCC chief asked the Chief Minister whether any power project started production after he came to power. He alleged that the Chief Minister was resorting to cheating in the name of sops to the BCs only to come out from the assurances of three acres of land for Dalits and 12 percent reservations to Muslims and STs, thinking that it was not possible to implement them. The State government was enhancing the figures every year in the budget only to create hype among the people.

Asking Chandrashekar Rao to tell where the assurance of giving lands to journalists had gone, Uttam Kumar said the former forgot the assurances given to Warangal and Adilabad journalists. The government was least bothered about the health cards which were not working properly. He asked Chandrashekar Rao to tell why he was not fulfilling the assurances given to lawyers.

The Chief Minister made the State number one in liquor sales and in party defections. He made it clear that the Opposition parties had the right to question the government on borrowing money mortgaging the interests of the State.

He said IT Minister KT Rama Rao was a child and he had no stature to criticise AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi’s family had the history of sacrifices, he said, and alleged that Rama Rao had the history of looting the State after coming from America. He alleged that Rama Rao was getting awards by giving money and that did not mean that his words were true.
