Hyderabad: Telangana Congress today attacked the K Chandrasekhar Rao led TRS government of "luring" people of the State with "impossible promises" in its Budget.

"TRS Government tried to 'lure' some sections of Backward Classes by offering various sops only to 'hide its failure' to implement 12 per cent quota for STs and Muslims, three acres of land for Dalit families and other major promises," Telangana Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy told reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here.

The sops announced by TRS Government to various sections in the budget for 2017-18 tabled yesterday clearly indicate that the State was heading for mid-terms polls in 2018, said Reddy.

"If TRS Government wants to go to polls in 2018 it self, the Congress is ready to face elections whenever they are held," he said.

Raising doubts over the Government's capability to implement the schemes announced in the budget, he said for the TRS Government it has become a habit to make "fake promises" even in Budget speeches.

He accused the TRS Government of providing wrong statistics to the Centre to get higher growth rate.

"The State government has manipulated figures to cheat the people of Telangana and create a hype of development," he said.

Reddy also disputed figures furnished in the Socio Economic Survey and asked whether or not the agriculture production in Telangana has decreased after TRS Government took over.

Ridiculing the claims on Telangana being on top in 'Ease of Doing Business', he said that the State has been consistently on sixth place in the country in attracting investments.

He alleged that the TRS Government has failed to produce even a single unit of power from the projects which it initiated after coming to power.
