Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday took to Twitter requesting DGP Anurag Sharma to initiate action against a cop who was behaving in a high-handed manner with a fruit vendor at Nagole.

KTR tagged DGP Sharma on Twitter and posted, "@TelanganaDGP garu, request you to take corrective action. Counselling for junior officers who have direct interface with people is essential."

The Minister also attached a picture of the traffic cop pushing away watermelons from the vendor's cart.

Rachakonda police have already started an inqury into the incident. The police official was identified as Uppal traffic inspector E Jangaiah who has been issued a show cause notice.

Reacting on the incident, the Traffic Inspector said in his defence that he was merely clearing the route for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's convoy to pass through and told the fruit vendors to move back. He insisted that no damage was caused during the incident.
