80 weather stations to come up in Telangana
The State government is planning to set up 80 new weather monitoring stations. At present there are 866 stations under the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS). S K Meera, CEO, TSDPS said that six parameters including temperature, rainfall, pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction would be studied.

There are two stations in every mandal but with the establishment of more centres, supply of data to Agriculture and Irrigation department would be better.
Sign boards on weather conditions at collectorates would be set up soon so that all district collectorates would be able to take steps and be prepared for any natural disaster. The sign boards would have content in simple language explaining how to combat heat wave, floods, lightening and hailstorms.
