A high-level committee meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Thursday approved an assistance of Rs 314.22 crore for Telangana State and Rs 584.21 crore for Andhra Pradesh. 

New Delhi: A high-level committee meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Thursday approved an assistance of Rs 314.22 crore for Telangana State and Rs 584.21 crore for Andhra Pradesh.

  • Telangana State is given 314.22 crore aid, and AP 584.21 crore
  • The aid is given based on the reports by the Central team which visited the two states to assess the damage wrought by floods, hailstorms, cyclones and drought

The Ministry had examined the proposal based on the reports of the Inter-Ministerial Central Team which visited the two States affected by flood/landslides, cloud burst, hailstorm, cyclones and drought during kharif.

The Committee had considered the same to 10 States, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. The assistance of Rs 5020.64 crore has been approved including Rs 4979.97 crore from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) and Rs 40.67 crore from the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in all.

The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh, the Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior representatives from NITI Aayog, MHA, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Finance also attended the meeting.
