New Delhi: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha on Friday introduced a Private Member's Bill in the Lok Sabha seeking a Turmeric Board for the State to be headquartered at Nizamabad.

Speaking to media with this regard, Kavitha stated that it had been a long-pending demand that one such board be provided to benefit the large number of turmeric farmers of Telangana and their vast produce.

She had written and pleaded with the Centre for the board more than 60 times or so in the past, even Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao too had written about the same to the Centre.

Kavitha was confident that MPs from other parties would support the move to set up the board in Nizamabad as it would be of great help to the turmeric farmers of neighbouring Karnataka and Maharashtra, apart from those of Andhra Pradesh.
