Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, doctors at the famed Gandhi Hospital here successfully removed a whistle from a 10-year-old boy on Wednesday. Though the boy swallowed the whistle accidentally on March 24, it was noticed by his parents when he started suffering from frequent hiccups. The boy, Abhiram, a resident of Balapur on the outskirts of the city, started making some weird sounds when he was asked to do something.

His worried parents took him to several private hospitals and finally reached Gandhi Hospital where he was operated upon and the whistle was removed successfully. ENT specialists Dr Srikanth and Hanumanth performed the operation. The whistle was found close to the right lung and now the boy is recouping, according to the hospital authorities.
