This assurance came when several senior Congress leaders from the Old Mahbubnagar district called on the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan to greet him on the occasion of Ugadi and also to highlight the water problems in the district.

KCR made a power-point presentation to explain how completion of the pending projects as well as new projects like Palamur Lift Irrigation Scheme would help irrigate 18 lakh acre which would bring the district on par with East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.

He also explained at length on the water resources and designs of various irrigation projects and the endeavour the government was making to bring help the farmers of Palamur district.

The Chief Minister said there is availability of 3,000 TMC of water in river Godavari . In Krishna 1200 TMC of water is available. The government is implementing a comprehensive irrigation policy to utilise the water from these two rivers by re-designing the Palamur Lift Irrigation Scheme, he said.

Though AP government obstructed the project, the TS government effectively argued before the Apex Committee meeting. The Dindi project would also be completed for optimum utilisation of Krishna water. The government has also given importance to complete Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, Bhīma and Koilsagar, he added.

The Chief Minister informed the delegation that the Centre has been requested to take up works related to Gadwal and Macherla Railway line. He would also take up the issue with Railway Ministry soon . Setting up of Handloom park in Gadwal , development of PG Centre and establishment of more solar power plants in Mahbubnagar district were also discussed during the meeting.

The Congress leaders who met the Chief Minister included Nagarkurnool MP Nandi Yellaiah and MLA DK Aruna, G Chinna Reddy, S A Sampath Kumar, Ch Vamshichand Reddy and MLC Damodar Reddy and others.
