Hyderabad: The day temperature in Adilabad on Friday touched a record of 43 degrees Celsius even as many cities in Telangana had 40 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am. It had recorded 42 degrees Celsius, this week recorded highest during the last decade.

According to the Met department bulletin, while Nizamabad and Medak recorded a high of 42 and 41 respectively, Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar and Ramagundam had 40 degrees Celsius each.

The bulletin said 39 degrees Celsius each was recorded in Hakimpet, Hanmakonda, Khammam and Nalgonda, as dry weather prevailed in Telangana.

The day temperatures were above normal by 1.6 to 3 degrees Celsius at many places across the State. The department renewed its warning that the maximum temperatures would continue to be above normal by two to three degrees Celsius.

They are likely to be above 40 degrees Celsius at isolated places in all Telangana districts for the next two days. The forecast said the upper air cyclonic circulation over north interior Karnataka and adjoining south madhya Maharashtra now lies over north interior Karnataka and adjoining Telangana.
