GHMC to introduce drinking water ATMs in Hyderabad

With Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) working on the idea of providing water ATMs in Hyderabad, the project has been well received in the political circles.
The idea has been propelled on the lines of cash-dispensing automated teller machines (ATMs) of banks along with the Rs 5 meal scheme in Telangana. The water ATMs would provide purified drinking water upto One litre at the cost of Rs One all over the city.
As the system is already in function in places such as Pune, Ghaziabad and Delhi, the GHMC has been planning to send team members to overview the implementation.
The provision of portable water by Water ATMs is likely to be implemented soon in the city.
