Hyderabad: Cantonment Congress leaders under the leadership of TPCC Official Spokesperson Krishank Manne, protested at Cantonment Water Supply General Manager's office at Marredpally beside Cantonment Board on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Krishank said that there is an acute water shortage in several wards of Cantonment area as HMW&SSB is not supplying the promised 68 lakh gallons of water. This, said Krishank, is the major cause of suffering as people are getting water once in 5 days and once in a week.

He demanded that the Water Board officials to release Cantonment's fair share of water. Congress workers with empty containers protested before the office.

He alleged that though several Ministers during the election campaigns promised uninterrupted water supply, they have renegaded on their promises and have left high and dry. About 35 Congress leaders were arrested and taken to Bolaram police station.
