Need to strengthen co-op bodies: Vikarabad Collector
Addressing a review meeting at the Collectorate on Tuesday, Vikarabad District Collector Divya advised the chairmen of primary cooperative societies and bank managers to take steps for strengthening cooperative societies.Â
​Vikarabad: Addressing a review meeting at the Collectorate on Tuesday, Vikarabad District Collector Divya advised the chairmen of primary cooperative societies and bank managers to take steps for strengthening cooperative societies.
She said that farmers are relying on private banks for loans after being denied by the cooperative banks.
Divya stressed that if the banks could provide financial assistance to the farmers, it would be great relief to them.
Also, she enquired about the members in the societies. The chairmen and managers brought the issue of construction of godowns and cold storages for the benefit of farmers to the collector’s notice.
In reply, the collector assured that she would hold discussion on this issue with DCCB chairman.
Sub Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, District Primary Societies officer Harini and others attended the meeting.
