Hyderabad: Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra, which started at Seetharambagh on Wednesday afternoon culminated at Hanuman Vyayama Shala in Koti around 9 pm peacefully.Police made elaborate bandobust arrangements for all the 200 independent processions that took place at different parts of the city and culminated at Koti.

The main procession, sphere headed by BJP legislator, Raja Singh, was flagged off by spiritual leader Kamalananda and RSS leader Bhagaiah.City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy, said as many as 12,000 police personnel including teams of Rapid Action Force were deployed for all the processions. About 5,000 personnel were deployed for the main procession alone, he added.

Apart from the 500 CCTV cameras installed enroute for the procession, five vehicle mounted cameras were also deployed to ensure strict surveillance of the processions, he said. The procession was monitored from the Command Control Centre by a team of officials from all the civic bodies, Transco and police, he said.

Apart from the Command Control Center, the CCTV cameras had also been connected to the DGP office, Mahendar Reddy said. Facial recognition software was used to detect any presence of suspects in the procession, he said.
