Nizamabad MP K Kavitha urged the youth to break the barriers of caste in the country and excel in their chosen fields. Participating in the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of the eminent Dalit leader and former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Babu Jagjivan Ram here on Wednesday, she said that it was their good fortune that the birthday of the great leader coincided with that of Sri Rama Navam
Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha urged the youth to break the barriers of caste in the country and excel in their chosen fields. Participating in the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of the eminent Dalit leader and former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Babu Jagjivan Ram here on Wednesday, she said that it was their good fortune that the birthday of the great leader coincided with that of Sri Rama Navami this year.
K Kavitha said the that leaders of the present generation should take Babu Jagjivan Ram as a role model and emulate him as he became a Union Cabinet Minister at a very young age immediately after independence and held several portfolios with great distinction.
She said that India ushered in the green revolution when Jagjivan Ram was the Union Minister for Agriculture, won a war with Pakistan and liberated when he was the Defence Minister and the workers benefitted a lot when he was the Union Labour Minister. Several speakers eulogized the services of the great Dalit leader. Later, Kavitha garlanded the portrait of the Babu Jagjivan Ram.
