New Delhi: Former Congress MP, V Hanumantha Rao, here on Friday questioned the developmental claims of the TRS government and sought a white paper on the same. Referring to the developmental claims of the IT Minister, K T Rama Rao and MP K Kavitha in the Janahita meetings being organised by the TRS, Rao said the tall claims of the two were astounding.
He stated that corruption was growing in the State and had become rampant in every department. Talking to the media here on Friday, Hanumantha Rao, while referring to the call of the TRS leadership to thrash corrupt officials "with slippers”, said, if it were the punishment for the corrupt officials, the same punishment should be applied to those who lied about the development of the State.
Also, "Not delivering on the promises is a bigger crime", he added.The TRS government had promised three acres of land to the dalits in its election campaign and party manifesto apart from promising to make a dalit as the Chief Minister, if it were to come to power in 2014. Having come to power, the party ignored both the promises, he added.
On the claims of the GHMC that drinking water was being supplied in the city on daily basis, he challenged the authorities to prove the same anywhere in the city except, perhaps, in the VVIP localities.
