Rachakonda police on Friday arrested a cyberstalker and seized a mobile phone used in committing the offense. The accused was identified as G Surya Manikanta, a classmate of the victim. According to the police, the accused obtained private photographs and videos of the victim when they were good friends. Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Friday arrested a cyberstalker and seized a mobile phone used in committing the offense.
The accused was identified as G Surya Manikanta, a classmate of the victim. According to the police, the accused obtained private photographs and videos of the victim when they were good friends. But he began nursing a grudge against the victim after she kept him at bay on realizing that he was not reliable, police said.
Consequently, he sent the private pictures of the victim to her elder sister and threatened that he would send the pictures to all the friends of the victim if she did not restore the relationship with him. When the victim’s elder sister reprimanded the accused, he created a fake Facebook profile of the victim and posted her mobile number with derogatory comments as though she was seeking relationship with strangers, police said.
It made the life hell for the victim due to which she not only had to change the phone number but went into depression forcing the victim’s sister to lodge a complaint. A case was registered and the accused arrested, police said. In a separate case, Cyberabad police picked up one Jeeshan, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman several times.
The accused turned the woman; a friend of him, into an addict for cigarette laced with marijuana and then assaulted her sexually when she dozed off under the influence of marijuana.
