Wyra: All India Rythu Cooli Sangam on Saturday took out a rally from the party Vikram Bhavan here demanding remunerative price for red chilli.

They set fire to red chilli bags at Wyra cross road centre. CPI-ML (New Democracy) Wyra division secretary K Arjun Rao demanded Rs 15,000 per quintal for red chilli and Rs 10,000 per quintal for red gram.

“The farmers are opting for cold storages as there is no remunerative price for their produces. They are even facing difficulty as there are not sufficient cold storages,” he added.

Arjun Rao criticised the Telangana government for favouring investors rather than standing by the farmers. He called upon the people to protest against the anti-people policies of the state and central governments.

Leaders Sheik Lalmeera, Babu, Saha Deva, AIKMS leaders Somulu, Sreenu, Venkanna, Jamalaiah, Venkatesh, Yesu Krishna, Veeranna, Narasimhulu, Ravindra, Durga Rao and others participated.
