Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has asked the District Collectors not to yield to any kind of political pressure in implementing the development and welfare programmes. Speaking at the Collectors conference on Monday, the Chief Minister urged the Collectors to ensure that the real beneficiaries are identified for schemes like two Bedroom housing, pensions for single women, beedi workers pension and sheep breeding.

The flagship programmes schemes should benefit 10 lakh beneficiaries this year, he said.Stating that the development is top on agenda of the government, KCR said mapping the human resource is very important to identify the beneficiaries. On the 2BHK houses, the Chief Minister said in each Assembly Constituency 1,400 houses would be constructed. He told the Collectors to identify the beneficiaries with the help of Mandal Revenue Officers and Revenue Divisional Officers.

He stressed need to ensure transparency in the process. Aadhaar should be used as a criterion. The beneficiaries should be identified through lottery system in the Gram Sabhas, he said. Referring to the single women pension scheme, KCR said there are between 2.5 lakh and 3 lakh single women in the State and the district administration should identify them immediately. Nearly 81,000 beedi workers, who are members of provident fund scheme, would get the pensions soon.

He directed the officials to complete the construction of office complexes for District Collectors and Superintendents of Police in the new districts by the end of this year and start functioning from the next year. The police office complexes would be constructed by the Telangana State Police Housing Corporation.
