Governor visits CoE
Governor E S L Narasimhan, on Monday, expressed happiness over subsidy on quality vegetable saplings being offered to farmers for cultivating horticulture crops in the State.He visited Centre of Excellence (CoE) along with his wife Vimala and inspected an exhibition of the farm activities, cultivation of flowers, vegetables using modern methods.
Hyderabad: Governor E S L Narasimhan, on Monday, expressed happiness over subsidy on quality vegetable saplings being offered to farmers for cultivating horticulture crops in the State.He visited Centre of Excellence (CoE) along with his wife Vimala and inspected an exhibition of the farm activities, cultivation of flowers, vegetables using modern methods.
The Governor also planted a sapling on the premises. Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy informed the Governor about the steps taken up for encouraging horticulture farming which is beneficial to the farmers. The Minister said since traditional farming is not favourable, farmers should prefer horticulture to get suitable benefits.
He also pointed out that modern methods are being followed at CoE to cultivate flowers and vegetables. Modern and latest practices are need of the hour to horticulture farming besides polyhouse, drip, sprinkler and micro irrigation are also helpful to get more yield, the Minister said.
The Governor enquired about various practices and subsidy which are offered to the farmers. Minister claimed that Telangana is the only State in India which is giving huge subsidy to procure equipment for farmers.
