Hyderabad: Large parts of Telangana continued to reel under intense heat with Bhadrachalam on Tuesday sizzling at 44.2 degrees Celsius, the highest maximum temperature recorded in the state so far this summer.

Yanambailu village recorded maximum temperature of 44.1 degree Celsius. Both Bhadrachalam and Yanambailu are located in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.

Wyra, in Khammam district, recorded 44 degrees Celsius, according to Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS).

They were followed by Mahabubnagar (42.6 degree Celsius), Khammam (42.2), Adilabad (41.3) and Hyderabad (40) , the IMD said.

Dry weather is likely to prevail over Telangana, the IMD said, adding maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees.
