Jupally seeks Centre’s fund infusion for State schemes

New Delhi: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Jupally Krishna Rao, here on Tuesday met the Union Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Narendra Singh Tomar, and urged him to release Rs 940.18 crore to clear pending bills for 2016-17 and to meet the current financial year's first quarter expenditure under MGNREGS programme.

While explaining to the Union Minister that the programme was being successfully implemented in the State, Jupally brought to former's notice that the Material Component fund had not been released so far to the State.

He also appealed for separate grant under Rashtriya Grama Swaraj Abhiyan for meeting expenses for appointment of District Project Manager and creation of District Programme Management Units in the newly formed 21 districts to implement the Panchayat Enterprise Suite Applications smoothly.

He also sought Rs 42 crore for District Panchayat Resource Centres in the new districts. He also asked permission for taking up repairs to minimum of 4,000 gram panchayat buildings to provide basic amenities.
