KTR reiterates demand for Saudi consulate in Hyd

Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao met the Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs V K Singh, here on Tuesday and reiterated that the Saudi Arabian consulate should be set up in Hyderabad at the earliest. This has been a long pending demand of the State government and even the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, insisted on it in the past.

New Delhi: Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao met the Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs V K Singh, here on Tuesday and reiterated that the Saudi Arabian consulate should be set up in Hyderabad at the earliest. This has been a long pending demand of the State government and even the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, insisted on it in the past.

Rama Rao also met the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and brought to his notice contentious issue of the closure of Cantonment road closure and that of the laying of road between Patny-Kompally-Jubilee Bus Stand. He told him about the decision of the TRS government to part with land if necessary.

Later speaking to the Union Minister of Roads and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the IT Minister said the State government was willing to set aside 100 acres of land for building skyways. He also thanked the Union Minister for sanctioning funds for Amberpet-Ramanthapur flyover.
