The Editor, The Hans India, Hyderabad

Respected Sir,

The Telangana government has introduced a novel scheme “The Telangana Hall of Fame” under which 34 personalities who excelled in different fields and brought laurels to the state have been decked up with their oil paintings at Ravindra Bharati.

We find a missing link in The Hall of Fame as the name of a great patriot and the chief architect of Hyderabad Liberation Movement, Ravi Narayan Reddy, does not find a place. In fact, the names of Suddala Hanumanthu, Makdoom Moinuddin, Chakali Ilamma who were inspired by Ravi Narayan Reddy find a place but the name of the inspirer is missing. Is it not a great injustice to the Hyderabad Liberation Movement?

Here are a few facts that justify the inclusion of Ravi Narayan Reddy in the Hall of Fame:

1)Late Sri Ravi Narayan Reddy had contested both Nalgonda Parliamentary seat and Bhongir Assembly seat in the first (1952) General Election and won both the seats. A creditable achievement of Reddy was that he polled more votes than Pandit Nehru and earned a niche for himself in the country.

2) As a person committed to the welfare of the poorer sections, Ravi Narayan Reddy became a role model by distributing his own land of 500 acres among the poor.

3) Among all, the Government of India taking into consideration the outstanding contribution of Ravi Narayan Reddy had awarded Padma Vibushan. Indeed it was a good recognition for his service to the cause of Telangana.

I therefore request the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao to consider the inclusion of Ravi Narayan Reddy in The Hall of Fame.

Yours Faithfully,
Dr C V Narasimha Reddi,
