TRS plenary to showcase flagship schemes
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is likely to adopt 19 short resolutions which include those on women and Most Backward Classes in the ensuing plenary of the party scheduled to be held on April 21.The main focus of the resolutions will be on the various welfare measures launched by the government.

The plenary will also give directions and guidance to the party rank and file to ensure they take the message of government’s welfare measures to the people. It may be recalled that the last TRS plenary had adopted 15 resolutions.The TRS, which was launched to fight for separate Telangana State in 2001, has demonstrated its competence in running the administration efficiently and introducing innovative schemes.
The party has completed 16 years since its launch and is now raring to go more vibrantly. As the party plenary date is nearing, the resolutions committee is in the process of carrying out its task. According to sources, the committee till now met thrice and slated to have another meeting on April 13.A senior leader told The Hans India that the party is likely to adopt 19 resolutions.
“We will submit the draft resolutions to the Chief Minister soon and he will take a decision on the number of resolutions,” said the TRS leader. He said the welfare measure launched by the government would get more emphasis – up to 75 per cent - in the resolutions. Schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Arogya Lakshmi, pensions to SC, ST, BCs, distribution of land to Dalits and others would be highlighted.
The TRS leader said that there would be a separate resolution on women in the plenary. He said that the TRS was giving 50 per cent reservations to women in the local body elections. Similarly, there are many women oriented programs like pensions for single woman, 33 per cent reservations for them in market committees, Amma Vodi, etc. Sources said that guidelines for MBCs were also being finalised by the government and by the time of plenary would meet and there would be a full-fledged discussion on MBCs.
Emphasis on providing assistance based on traditional professions.There would also be a political resolution in the plenary and the party MP K Keshav Rao is likely to move the resolution. The TRS leaders said that with 75 per cent of the government funds were allotted for the welfare of the weaker sections, there is no scope for other political parties in the State to give a fight to the TRS.Meanwhile, government whip P Rajeshwar Reddy said the membership drive of the party came to an end on Monday and the total members of the party were over 70 lakh in the State.
