Villagers have a field day as truck spills crates of oranges
People of Choutkur and neighbouring villages had a field day in the wee hours of Wednesday when a truck carrying fresh oranges overturned on the National Highway 161. Villagers were so overjoyed that they carried away the fruits along with the plastic crates.

A truck bearing registration number MH08 W5544 was transporting oranges from Nagpur to Chennai. The truck overturned due to a sharp turn near Choutkur village in Pulkal mandal at around 5 am on Wednesday and the driver escaped unharmed.
However, when the villagers came to know about the accident, they rushed to the spot in large numbers and made away with all the oranges along with the plastic crates before police arrived at the scene.Loss was estimated to be around Rs 4.2 lakh (excluding the cost of 600 plastic crates). Each crate of oranges could have fetched Rs 700.
