Chintakindi, Tripuraneni receive Padma awards from President
Chintakindi Mallesham, famously known as the innovator of Asu Machine, was awarded the Padma Shri by the President Pranab Mukherjee in an investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.

Tripuraneni Hanuman Chowdary, an administrator par excellence too received the award. His contribution to the telecom field as well as bureaucracy is well known. Chowdary is the Founding Chairman and Managing Director of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited and Chairman of Pragna Bharthi of Andhra Pradesh.
He initiated the restructure of Department of Telecommunications in the country and drafted the National Telecom Policy and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Bill, which became the basis for the final TRAI Act. He is considered a key instrument in the birth of Telecom manufacturing industry in private sectors of the country.
