Will stick to promises at any cost: Talasani

Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday lashed out at the BJP for criticising State government on reservations to Muslim Minorities.Addressing the media at the Secretariat here, Srinivas Yadav took serious exception to BJP leader G Kishan Reddy for opposing the reservations to the Muslims.

The BJP, he said, has been trying to foment trouble on the pretext of opposing reservations to Muslims. He asserted that the TRS government would not go back on its election promises. The Minister came down heavily on Kishan Reddy for stating that providing reservations on basis of religion were communal and against the Constitution. He said Muslims were already enjoying 5 per cent reservations after the formation of Telangana State.

He said the BJP was known for playing communal card.The BJP government in Rajasthan and Gujarat had sent the resolution for providing reservations to Gujjars and Jats respectively and the issue was pending with the Centre. When the BJP ruling States can pass such bills in their Assemblies, why not Telangana State with more than 90 per cent of population belonging to SC, ST, BC and Minorities can pass reservation bill, he wondered.
